Expert and certified energy benchmarking for commercial real estate buildings in New Jersey.

What is New Jersey’s Clean Energy Act?

Starting in 2023, commercial or multifamily buildings over 25,000 square feet are now required to benchmark their annual energy and water usage.

Why Benchmarking?

Benchmarking aims to help buildings become energy efficient.

It enables commercial building owners and operators to measure and analyze their energy and water use. It also provides them with the tools to compare their metrics to other buildings and find areas to optimize usage. In addition, benchmarking is the first step in the process of an ENERGY STAR® Certification. Buildings must submit their metrics to the ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager and score 75 or higher on their benchmarking to be eligible to apply.

What utilities are required?

Electric, natural gas, water, and waste consumption.
